Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Cupid handles and the choices available to you.
What we collect and how
You provide account and profile details during registration or profile editing, including your name, email, date of birth, role, manually selected city, nationality, relationship status, biography, and dating preferences. You choose any profile photos through the camera or photo picker. Introductions, messages, reports, safety feedback, and date check-ins are created when you use those features. Apple or Google supplies basic sign-in details when you choose that provider. A phone number may remain associated with a legacy account that previously used phone sign-in. Cupid does not collect your address book or device location in this release.
Why we use it
We use this information to create and secure your account, confirm eligibility, show relevant profiles, enable introductions and conversations, prevent abuse, investigate reports, provide support, and maintain the service.
Service providers
Data may be processed by infrastructure and identity providers that operate Cupid, including Supabase and our hosting provider, and by Apple or Google when you choose their sign-in service. Providers processing data for Cupid are required by contract or applicable law to protect it to the same or an equivalent standard and to use it only for the services they provide. We do not sell personal information or use private messages for advertising.
Visibility and safety
Onboarded profile names, manually selected city, and nationality may appear to Cupids in member discovery. Connected members viewing a shared Cupid network may also see profile biography and interests. Other profile information is visible through introductions and matching. Uploaded profile photos are private to your account in this release. Private messages are visible to their participants. Written date-check-in feedback is visible to the Cupid who made the introduction, while safety flags and reports may be reviewed by authorized safety personnel. Blocking makes affected product interactions unavailable.
Retention and deletion
We keep account data while your account is active and only as long as needed for security, fraud prevention, legal obligations, and safety investigations. You can permanently delete your account in the app or use our web deletion process. Associated profile data and uploaded photos are removed. When law or abuse prevention requires it, a restricted incident record may retain the report reason or safety-feedback message, referenced content identifier, review outcome and timestamps, plus an opaque internal account reference rather than a live profile.
Your choices and contact
You can edit profile information, decline optional permissions, report or block another member, or withdraw by deleting your account. Contact support@joincupid.app about privacy or safety. Eligibility requirements are listed in our Terms of Use.
